Dr. Jason Yakimishyn graduated with his Honours BA in Kinesiology from the University of Western Ontario. While at Western, Dr. Jason was published in the Journal of Experimental Brain Research for assisting in visuomotor memory data analysis and was selected to be student Athletic Therapist for the Western Mustangs football team. He was also introduced to chiropractic care which allowed his body to recover naturally from allergies and asthma that had bothered him for years. All of this led Dr. Jason to LIFE University in Atlanta, Georgia, where he graduated cum laude with his Doctorate of Chiropractic.
During his years in Atlanta, Dr. Jason Yakimishyn was blessed with the opportunity to intern under Dr. Bob Braile, a four-time recipient of the chiropractor of the year award and the past president of the International Chiropractic Association and Georgia Council of Chiropractic. Throughout his time at Braile Chiropractic, Dr. Jason learned how to provide high quality care to people of all ages including 48 hour old infants, pregnant mothers and people well into their 90s. He also played for and provided chiropractic care to the LIFE University Eagles hockey team. Dr. Jason Yakimishyn previously practiced in London, ON and now enjoys serving his community here in Oakville.
Dr. Jason currently occupies the role of Spine and Ergonomic Consultant for Habitat for Humanity Canada and formerly worked as the official chiropractor for the Ontario Blue Jays while managing a sports rehab clinic in Mississauga - APEX Optimal Performance. Outside of the office Dr. Jason loves playing hockey and golf, Crossfit exercise (he has his CrossFit Level 1 CF-OL1 certification), skiing/snowboarding, and exploring outdoors with his wife, Claudia, his kids, Leora and Oscar, and their dog, Koda. He continues to study new chiropractic research and enjoys educating people about the proper structure, function and healing properties of the human body.
dR. JENNIFER YAKIMISHYN
Dr. Jennifer Yakimishyn was introduced to chiropractic after she suffered a debilitating figure skating injury while in high school. The injury forced her to stop skating as she could hardly walk and even struggled to sit up straight. She had tried all the usual forms of pain relief but nothing seemed to help. A family friend suggested trying a local chiropractor and it was at that moment that she started to appreciate the innate healing properties of the human body.
This experience led Dr. Jennifer to the University of Western Ontario where she graduated with her Honours BSc in Kinesiology. During her time there she led the Western Mustangs figure skating team to multiple wins at the provincial level while also working as a professional skating coach for young children. She then moved on to LIFE University, where she graduated magna cum laude and was named Salutatorian of her class. While at LIFE, she completed extra certifications in the Webster Technique and Torque Release Technique, and was also an active member of the International Chiropractic Paediatric Association. Her continued involvement with the ICPA has allowed Dr. Jennifer to develop the knowledge and experience needed to focus on paediatric, pregnancy, and family care. In 2018, Dr. Jennifer was granted Certification by the Academy Council of Chiropractic Paediatrics (CACCP). This certification enables Dr. Jennifer to expand her range of care to individuals throughout pregnancy and childhood with excellence and in accordance with evidence-informed practice.
Dr. Jennifer Yakimishyn is an active member of the International Paediatric Chiropractic Association (ICPA), the International Federation of Chiropractors & Organizations (IFCO), and the Chiropractic Awareness Council of Ontario (CAC). She is a Skate Canada Professional Coach, and enjoys healthy cooking, skiing, and hiking with her family - husband Kyle, children JJ and Lennon, and dog Millie. Dr. Jennifer takes pride in her additional certifications and loves promoting healthy growth and development of the human body.
